Is your name written in the Lamb's Book of Life?
If you don't know, then it probably isn't. Please keep reading to find out how you can be sure that it is.
The Bible says
God’s Purpose: Man was created to honor and serve Him.
Revelation 4:11 -- "Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created."
But we have a problem, it’s called Sin. It’s when we make bad choices like not obeying our parents, cheating in school and stuff. It’s basically breaking any of the 10 commandments. So we choose to sin against God by our own thoughts and actions rather than to serve Him. And there is nothing we can do to make us acceptable in God’s sight once we have sinned and disobeyed him.
The Bible says
If we have lied, cheated, or stole something, even once, or even had a bad thought, then we are guilty.
Romans 6:23 -- "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Revelation 20:15 -- "And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire."
You see, the penalty for SIN is Death which is separation from God forever. That’s like not ever seeing your family and friends again, ever, we call that eternity.
There are only two places to spend eternity. Heaven, which is paradise with God. Or Hell, which is a dark place of torment where the Devil will be. And he won’t be very happy about it, and neither will you if you have to go there.
But there’s Good News!
Jesus, God’s Son, paid the penalty for us. He was our Sinless Substitute. It’s God’s gift to us because he doesn’t want any of us to spend eternity in Hell with the devil. But he leaves that choice up to each of us to decide for ourselves. That’s true love.
Romans 5:8 -- "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
It’s actually pretty simple: We must personally receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and accept His forgiveness. It’s like getting a gift from God. We have to actually receive it and then thank him for it. We must put our trust in Him alone, believing in our hearts that what he did for us is enough. He is truly the only way to get to heaven. Well actually there are two ways. The other way is to be perfect and we all know that’s not going to happen.
Romans 3:23 -- "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..."
John 14:6 -- "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."
Acts 3:19 -- ""Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord..."
God’s Promise is that if we do this we can have Eternal Life. That means we get to live with God forever and ever in a place called paradise which is heaven.
John 5:24 -- "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life."
So how can you receive this Free Gift from God? Well, first you have to:
A - Admit that you have sinned against God and ask Him for forgiveness.
B - Believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died for you on the cross, rose from the dead, and is coming back one day as King of Kings and Lord or Lords.
C - Call upon Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. Confess to him, tell him that you are sorry for doing bad things and thank him for what he did for you when he died on the cross and accept his free gift of salvation and forgiveness.
If you do these things, something awesome will happen. You will become a true child of God. A Kingdom Kid. You will be a true Christian. We call this being born again.
Will all your problems go away? Nope! Will you still make mistakes. Yep! But guess what? Your name will be added to the Lambs Book of Life and you will get to spend eternity in Heaven with Jesus. And not even Satan himself, can take that away from you. Isn’t that cool?
Now is the time to make your decision where you will spend eternity. Should you wait until tomorrow? NO! Absolutely not! For tomorrow may never come. The Bible says that “Today is the day of salvation”. Not yesterday, not tomorrow, not next week. It’s TODAY! Right now! If God is tugging on your heart right now, even as you read this, then repent and come to the Lord for forgiveness.
Some of you have already done this. Praise God! And congratulations because your name is written in the lambs Book of Life. But if you have never accepted and received God’s free gift of salvation. This is your opportunity. Whether you are 10 years old, 15 or 50. It’s not too soon and it’s not too late. Even at this very moment, God has his arms wide open for you to trust in Him. Maybe you just want to rededicate your life to Christ. Maybe you know that you have fallen short in your walk with God and you just want a fresh start. This could be your moment to turn it around.
God wants to give you the opportunity right now to get right with Him. To accept in your heart that you are a sinner and that you want to change for the better. That you believe that Jesus paid the price for your Sin by dieing on the cross at Calvary and that He rose from grave and will one day return so that you can spend eternity in heaven with God and his children. Come before the Lord, confess to him that you are a sinner and that you need His forgiveness.
If you sincerely, with all of your heart, want to accept God’s Free Gift of Salvation, or you just want a fresh start, simply repeat the following prayer. It doesn’t have to be exact. It’s not some magical prayer, but it’s how sincere you are about it. Just pray something like this:
Dear Lord, I confess that I am a sinner, and that I have made some bad choices in my life. I ask for your forgiveness and I thank you for sending your son Jesus Christ to die on the cross in my place. I accept your Free Gift of Salvation and I thank you for it. Please come into my heart and be Lord of my Life and help me to live for you this day forward. And please add my name to the Lambs book of Life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
Praise the Lord! If you said this prayer for the first time, and you really meant it, please let me know because I have something special that I want to give you. Just send your email to holyghostdude@yahoo.com
