Why Redemption Central?
Redemption Central's primary purpose is to provide a valuable resource for Redemption Players located in the Kansas City Metropolitan area and surrounding counties so that we can come together in unity and with one voice for the game of Redemption in our part of the United States.
We do this through continuous updates to a centralized database which brings the information together and is posted on a general website which represents the lower portion of the Official Redemption Northwest Central Region.
What is Redemption & How Did it Get Started?
The Christian card game called Redemption was introduced in 1995 by Rob Anderson of Cactus Game Design. Today, there are over 1,600 different Redemption trading cards available with local, district, regional and national tournaments scheduled across the US. Redemption is a collectable trading card game that uses biblical principles to cast Hero’s against Evil Characters to strategically rescue lost souls for the Kingdom of God. Sort of like real life huh? STARTING A REDEMPTION GROUP? Helpful Tips - Have a scheduled time and place that is convenient for everyone.
- Remember that each player is at a different level. Try and play with someone with similar level playing ability. It will make it a lot more fun and challenging. As you get better, play different opponents so you can try various strategies. Newer players should start out with the Starter Decks first until they get use to playing the game and then add more cards to increase and advance their playing ability.
- Try playing multi-player games but keep the groups small. Three seems to work best with no more than four players per group.
- Invite friends to check it out. New opponents keep the game fresh and exciting. If they have never heard of redemption before, have them bring other types of trading cards (Yu-Gi-Oh & Poke'mon) and then explain to them how they can trade them in for redemption packs so they can join the playgroup.
- Stay in touch with eachother via email or by phone.
- If you are in involved in multiple playgroups in different areas, support eachothers tournaments so that you can reach more kids for Christ.
OTHER MEANINGFUL TIPS - Be a good example by having a Christ-like attitude and being a good sport. Be humble and gracious in victory and in defeat.
- If you want to take it to the next level, read the card passages from the Bible as you play. You may want to look them up in your favorite Bible to get an even better understanding of the card. Taking the time to get into God's Word is always a plus. Remember, you are a Christian first and a redemption player second.
- Be a true soul winner in game and in life and God will use you in a mighty way for His honor and for His glory.
